Affordable

The Warialda Solar Farm is a new solar PV and battery energy storage project being developed by CleanPeak Energy in the Warialda region of New South Wales. Designed across approximately 13 hectares, the project aims to deliver a target solar capacity of 7.3MWdc, with export capacity of up to 4.99MWac into the local electricity network.

The solar farm will comprise over 11,000 bifacial solar panels mounted on single-axis trackers that follow the sun from east to west throughout the day, optimising renewable generation capability. Once operational, the Warialda Solar Farm is expected to generate approximately 13GWh of renewable electricity each year, delivering clean energy into the surrounding distribution network.

This project is also set to include an integrated battery energy storage system, coupled directly with the solar infrastructure, which will enhance the project’s flexibility and performance. This allows the site to store excess energy generated during the day and dispatch it when demand is highest, improving grid stability and ensuring a more consistent and dependable renewable energy supply for the local community.

For Warialda

CleanPeak works with local subcontractors and suppliers wherever possible, and have set up a Community Benefits Fund to support local projects, events, and initiatives in Warialda across the life of the solar farm.

For the Climate

Once fully operational, the Warialda Solar Farm is expected to offset close to 8,500 tonnes of carbon emissions each year, equivalent to powering around 1,500 Australian homes .

For the Land

The site has been carefully placed to protect environmental values, minimise native vegetation removal and respect areas of cultural sensitivity, with our Net Positive Biodiversity Action Plan, guiding  how the land is enhanced over time.

Location

The Warialda Solar Farm is located approximately 2kn north of town in the Warialda region of northern New South Wales.

The site layout has been designed to work within local planning and environmental requirements, including appropriate setbacks and protection zones for identified areas of cultural sensitivity. With strong solar exposure across the region and a direct connection into the surrounding distribution network, Warialda is well placed to support reliable, large-scale renewable energy generation.
